After a long stressful week of work and school it is important to unwind and pamper yourself before you have to do it all over again Monday morning. Now, I do not do this every weekend but it is something I try to do and am trying to get in the routine of doing every Sunday to start my week of relaxed and ready to tackle. Here are some of the ways I like to unwind when I have time. I should really start making time to follow this routine so I can truly have a relaxing start to my week.
Foot Spa-cation
One option is to give yourself an amazing pedicure right in your own home, when I do this on Sunday I relax with a snack and a cup of my favorite drink and sit in front of the TV. I use a home
foot bath like one of these inexpensive ones here. Next, after filling with warm water I add in my Chamomile & Lavender Effervescent Foot Soak and let it dissolve in the warm water, it smells amazing and turns the water a beautiful, tranquil blue color. Now while your feet soak this is when you really relax, you can apply a face mask and lay in a dark room with soft music playing or turn on Lifetime and watch a suspenseful love story (I love Lifetime movies btw!). After I feel like I have had enough relaxation I use my Walnut Shell Smoothing Foot Scrub and my Body Benefits 4 in 1 Foot Wand and gently scrub the dead skin away from my feet and they feel sooooooooo soft afterwards. To finish it off I moisturize with one of two things and put on my favorite pair of fuzzy socks. I will either use my Glycolic Acid Cracked Heel Treatment or my Vaseline with Cocoa Butter and it really seals in the moisture.
Bubble Bath
The second option is to run a hot bath and pour in your favorite bubble bath mine is this Village Naturals Bath Shoppe Ultra Moisturizing Milk Bath with Shea Butter, Lavender, and Chamomile. Bath and Body Works also has some great aromatherapy bubble bath that you could use. Anyways, I pour a generous amount in my bathtub, light a candle and dim the lights maybe even play some soft music and lay back and let your mind wander. This really helps me relax and get focused on having a positive upcoming week. You could also add a drop or two of Peppermint Oil to your bath water in inhale deeply to get the full effects of the oil. However, I do recommend doing one drop at a time while in the water because one drop to many and your water will feel freezing cold even if you just ran steaming hot water. Trust me this is from experience...
