Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette

So, a few weeks ago I was checking out my Bloglovin and I came across Lauren's Eye & Cheek Palette Wishlist over at Little Blushing Birdie, yes that means go check out that post and her blog its AMAZING! Anyways the point in all that was to say that I saw this amazing NARS palette on her list and decided that I needed it, I do not have any NARS products and that would be my first one! I went to Sephora while at the mall and asked about the palette and they didn't have it, the lady who helped me actually seemed like she did not know what I was really talking about and told me to get it online.  I wanted to see it before spending allllll that money on it so I called my local Sephora that is in a JCPenney store right down the street from my house and they had it and put it on hold for me.  I went to the store, looked at the palette, bit the bullet and bought it.  I got home and swatched it and thought it wasn't as pigmented as a thought but the more I played with it the more I fell in love.  Now, it does have some quite bright colors but honestly they do not go on the most pigmented which is good in the fact that they can be built up and you can avoid having clown face and accidently applying too much blush.

What's in the Palette?
  • Miss Liberty Highlighting Blush Powder-peach beige shimmer highlighting blush
  • Deep Throat Blush- peach shimmer blush
  • Sex Fantasy Blush- pale lavender pink blush
  • Final Cut Blush-peach coral blush
  • Laguna Bronzing Powder-brown with gold shimmer
Highlight -The highlight very glittery, I mean like straight glitter and shimmer so I use very lightly but I still like it but I think I like it, I wouldn't buy it on its own but as a package deal I am fine with it.

Bronzer- I love this bronzer but it is very light for my skin town so it doesn't give me a lot of color but it gives enough to warm up my face and I have been using it for my everyday face or my no makeup looks.  I do still love it but if I really want that fierce contour I would not reach for this

Blush- My favorite color is actually Sex Fantasy but it is quite light for me so I layer it with other blushes because if not used properly it can come of a little ashy for me.  The other two blushes are great I love peach, orange, coral blushes so I have no complaints with those blushes.

Overall, one a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate this a 4 but really only because with my skin tone some of these colors are not the best for me but I can make them work and I am not really into dramatic makeup so the subtle contour works well for me.  The packaging is amazing, the box (which I still have for some reason) is even amazing.  the actual palette is really heavy and quite sturdy which will make it good for storage and traveling, at this price you cannot afford to have a broken package in your suitcase. Also, I know NARS is quite expensive but the price tag on this could be lower but I mean for my first NARS purchase I am quite satisfied and will be keeping this palette.

Questions:

What holiday/limited edition palettes  are you getting this season?  If you have a post or review please link it below so I can check it out.

  1. Thank you so much for the shout out! You're too sweet :-) I was really tempted to purchase this palette myself, but decided to go for the Tarte one instead. The packaging on this palette is just stunning, though, and I love that you get something to highlight and contour with in addition to the blush. I'm happy to see you're enjoying it!
